GEORGE I COUNTRY OAK CHEST OF DRAWERS ON STAND. Circa 1720
This gorgeous George I Country Oak Chest of Drawers, with moulded front and cross-banded top, has a real Housekeeper’s finish. It has been loved, waxed, dusted and polished over the years and had developed a rich patina. The handles were replaced many years ago and have likewise been lovingly and regularly burnished.
The Chest, which dates from around 1720 and has oak lined drawers, is raised on a later Oak Stand, made about 1900.
I have noticed that in the first photographs I had failed to closed the 2nd drawer fully. Please rest assured this does close properly.
This much-cherished Antique Country Oak Chest of Drawers displays beautifully and is of a size that would fit into most homes.
