SMALL GEORGIAN HIDE-COVERED TRAVELLING TRUNK. Furnell & Bagnal c1810
This well-travelled and characterful Georgian Hide-Covered and Metal-Bound Travelling Trunk dates from circa 1810.
It bears the original paper label of Furnell & Bagnal ‘Trunk Makers to the Hon East India Company’.
The Trunk, which has the remains of a brass-studded initial ‘K’ on the top, is of small proportions and has a wonderful, decorative appeal. The front clasp and escutcheon cover are particularly attractive.
