SHEFFIELD PLATED HENRY WILKINSON & Co SPOON WARMER. Circa 1860
This superb quality Sheffield Plated Spoon Warmer bears the marks of Henry Wilkinson & Co (1843-1871).
Popular in Victorian times, the Spoon Warmer helped to ensure that food could be served as warm as possible to the table. This model has a separate reservoir to hold the hot water, accessed by unscrewing a cap.
In the modern age it would be ideal to warm the serving spoons used to quenelle ice-cream.
This Spoon Warmer has been engraved later with the initials T.E.D. and the date 1912.
It is in good condition with very little wear to the plate.
