Late 18th/early 19th Century Two Section Surtout de Table or Table Mirror. Maximum Length 32 inches (81.5 cm).
Standing on small Ball and Claw gilt metal feet, this two- section shaped Surtout de Table dates from around 1800. The bases are made from solid oak and both sections are original throughout.
It was used in the centre of a Dining Table to support floral decorations, fruit, glasses and anything that added colour and sophistication to an occasion.
One of the feet is missing and, as would be expected, there is some wear to the gilt.
