This Minton Majolica Centrepiece bears the date cipher for 1864.
It is modelled as a Putti Scribe standing on a plinth piled high with books, pen and scroll in hand. The three scallop shell dishes extend from masks of Neptune.
The Centrepiece is fully marked to the base.
Thre is a little damage. One of the shell dishes has been broken in two and reglued and there is a small surface chip to the top edge of this shell. One of the other shells has a small surface chip to the underside of the rim.
