RARE J.D. BAGSTER STONEWARE GREYHOUND BEER JUG. Circa 1820
This Rare Relief Moulded Stoneware Beer Jug, with Greyhound handle, dates from circa 1820. The Potter’s name ‘J.D. Bagster’ is impressed on the Greyhound’s collar.
This Jug, by John Denton Bagster, of the Church Works, Hanley, is one of the first Relief Moulded Jugs ever to be produced (Relief-Moulded Jugs 1820-1900 R.K. Henrywood).
It is in good condition with no cracks, chips or restoration.
