This interesting Pottery Jug, bearing the impressed mark ‘MacIntyre, Burslem’, is decorated with a continuous scene entitled ‘The Bell Edmonton – The Diverting History of John Gilpin’, in relief.
It is topped with a silver band bearing the Hallmarks for London 1895 and the Makers’ Mark for Cornelius Desormeaux Saunders and James Francis Hollings (Frank Shepherd).
There is also a printed mark, S and S in an hour glass, and a Design Registration Number for 1895.
The Jug is modelled to look like a bell in shape and finish.
The condition is good. There are no chips or restoration.
