This Country House Carved Gilt Wood Foot Stool dates from circa 1860.

It retains its original gold leaf and has been double-gilded on the high points to give extra brilliance.

The Foot Stool has a tapestry top which has faded over time and which adds to its character.

It is sturdy and in good condition with the expected wear to the gilt.
