This super quality Figured Walnut Writing Slope, dating from circa 1850, has its original brass gallery and leather inset.

The side, swing-out pen and ink compartment is released by removing the small handle on the inside bottom drawer.

The Walnut is a lovely, rich colour and has a good patina.
