This rare Set of Four Blue & White Transfer Printed Dishes bear the impressed mark ‘Wolfe’ to the back.
Thomas Wolfe, considered to be one of the pioneers of underglaze blue printing on earthernware, had a Factory in Church Street, Stoke 1784-1800.
The Dishes, which measures 6.25 inches (16 cm) in diameter, are decorated in a Chinoiserie-style transfer of very deep blue.
The Dishes are in good condition. There are some very minor nicks and rubbing to the edges. One Dish has an old, thin, surface chip to the back. There is no restoration
