This Victorian Staffordshire Dog Clock Group dates from circa 1860.  It is well-modelled with good definition to the Dogs’ coats.

The two attendant Dogs are brought to life by the skilful painting.  The colours are bright and the Group is in good condition with no restoration.  There is a small, old surface chip to the back edge which is shown in the photograph.  The dark line above it is original paint and under the glaze.
